I wanted to express a recombinant protein the cell membrane of mammalian cells. Now the case in point is, What kind of sorting signal should I use? my second question, Is glycosylation process necessary for sorting proteins form ER to plasma membrane or not?

I was wondering that if you do have some information about the signals which is needed for sorting of these proteins or not. How we could be sure that a denovo protein would be sorted to the membrane?
You do the fusion of your gene of interest with the membrane expressed gene to get recombinant protein which is expressing on the membrane of mammalian cell lines. If it is glycosylated protein then processing will takes place in ER and Golgi.
