I am working on problem of Node Release technique.In this technique I have to run the model till the specified node has archived the CTOD displacement.Then I am able to stop the analysis using URDFIL subroutine.Now I have to restart the analysis and use the data for nodal forces and reactions to be applied in further analysis and I have to release one of the fixed node till few nodes and show that the crack is propagating. I am new to ABAQUS programming so I am finding great difficulty in running analysis after it is terminated. Please help !

If you have written restart files then using *Restart, READ options you can probably do want you want. Please search *Restart in Abaqus keyword reference manual. You may need to use End step option, as you have to redefine boundary conditions.

Thank you Anshul. One more doubt : Is there a way in ABAQUS that I can change the Boundary conditions after I Restart the analysis. i.e in new analysis ?I came to know that I can add new boundary conditions and steps but cannot change the previously defined boundary conditions.Is it correct ?
I think you can change it, but before that you need to end the previous step. That's what I wrote that you may need to use END STEP option. It is mentioned in the manual that you can REDEFINE the boundary conditions in new step, though I have never used it.
