Aerated concrete blocks are nowadays are used in place of conventional bricks due to their lightweight ,uniform size and less plaster requirements. However, their water absorption properties and lower strength properties may affect durability.

Due to its relatively low consumption of readily available raw materials, excellent durability, energy efficiency, relative cost effectiveness, and ability to be recycled, AAC is well deserving of its “green” designation.
