Now, I check the question about one hours and am very tiered to cancel some categories of questions such as the usage of SPSS, R, Matlab etc. If I need this situation, I ignore the questions. Tell me the good advice. On the other hand, I'd like to accept such as the discriminant analisis, collinearity and model selection.
I want to believe that is not all questions asked that a particular person can give response to.Give response to those ones within the area of your expertise.

In the section "Your skills and expertise", do click in edit and then click in the cross of the areas to refuse. After do it, give click in the cross of the areas to add, in "Suggested skills", or write in the box the respective skills.
The Questions in RG may be smart or stupid independently on category. Because category is also selected by person or suggested to him by (rather stupid) computer. Also, smart questions may be sometimes not for me, because I may lack particular knowledge. So the best way is just to read it and then to forget if no smart idea of answer (or at least an algorithm to get it) comes in the first minute.
I think, we also must vote down dumb questions before moving on, if RG does not do it for us.
Good morning! I do not think that there are stupid questions per se. In my opinion the only question that is unacceptable, is the question not asked and we might think that some questions are dumb when maybe in reality, sometimes one of our colleagues is need of some guidance. The thing I like about RG is that somebody is always willing to respond. Thus, I think that we should not shut down people from asking. But I am completely in agreement with Dr. Shinmura in that sometimes the system list questions a bit too many or outside our area of study. I am completely in agreement with Kazeem and Carlos's advice, that of responding those questions that are within our area of study and or deleting skills from the profile.
I am SOMETIMES fed up with seeing same questions all over again. Hence even if willing to participate in discussions, struggle to find fresh material at times.
Hello Dr. Orlik! I think you brought up a great point. I have not been in RG for a long time, but yes, I have also noticed that sometimes some questions come up frequently. One is, for example, asking for guidance on how to conduct a Logistic Regression analysis. I have encountered this question several times. While again, all questions are valid and valuable (in my opinion), I think that RG should have a section of, say, most frequently questions asked and the most voted response so that we could go to this section first to see if there is something about our question that has been already responded satisfactorily. Some professors here in RG have taken some action on this, for example, in one thread, one professor let people in the thread know that he had started to gather all the information and resources on the topic discussed so we RG'itas (this is my nickname to us RG users, not his :)) could get help on the topic.I thought that that was incredibly helpful and incredibly generous of his time.
