I'm working on a pump probe setup with one focusing lens for both beams. So the spot size of the pump and the probe would be the same. I'm looking for a way to reduce the probe spot size. (probably using a second lens for the probe beam). Is there any easier way to reduce the spot size?

if you are worried about the beam profile you can expand one beam. the larger diameter beam will have a smaller spot size at its focus. if you use one lens as you mentioned above and i.e. defocus you will also change the effective focal length. You might want to keep in mind that your spot size also depends on the wavelength.
Thanks. Yeah, I think I'll try to make a beam expander , since I care about both the profile and the intensity of the beam.
You could expand you probe beam before it gets to your last lens - so it will be focused into a smaller spot.
