How can I purify the fusaria cultures from bacterial contaminants?
You can keep subculture the Fusarium , or you media with antibiotics to inhibit the bacteria from growing :)
Fusaria were grown on PDA media amended with streptomycin. But still there's bacteria in these fusarium cultures.
Since streptomycin is active against Gram -ve and mycobacteria,the endospore forming bacteria are not killed by streptomycin, possibly members of Bacillus and/or clostridia may be present along with Fusarium .Better you should try a broad spectrum as suggested by Bhoj R Singh
By sub culturing of fusarium in fungal media media( SDA, PDA). just pick a needle fusarium culture colony which is supposed to separate to bacteria in mix culture and do central inoculation and this inoculated culture after growth reinoculate to another same plate of media. eventually you will get pure colony.
