Right now I'm working on a project about guided waves, and its very important for me not only obtain the mode shapes after the modal analysis which its the easy part of it, but found a way to obtain the eigenvector (phi) which would be critical for me to select and organize the types of modes in a specific element. I'll be working with a plate and also I'm planning to obtain them for a pipe. I've search the web and all I found are very complex macro codes, that are not very helpful. I need to find a straight way to find them trough ANSYS Mechanical APDL.
There is no way to avoid writing a macro to extract eigenvectors when using APDL. Extracting eigenvectors using ANSYS Workbench is straightforward, but APDL requires a macro. I would suggest the following macro (disclaimer: I have not tried this macro myself).
