I want to model damage of Glass-Epoxy composite under impact using Abaqus. Does anyone implemented a failure criterion such as puck or Matzenmiller ones in a VUMAT for Abaqus/Explicit or used Hashin creterion with cohesive layers for reproducing damage modes and SHPB Stress-Strain curves?. Thank you for help.
I have used Hashin FC (2D 3D) with traction separation FC for cohesive layer. To start, try with inbulid 2D FC for FRP composite with continuum shell elements without using cohesive zone. By the way, you want to model it for impact or SHPB (tension or compression ?) ?
You can simply simulate SHPB with Hashin damage model. What is your exact question?
Thanks Amir . I want to simulate specimen modes of failure in SHPB test and get Stress-strain curves to correlate them with experimental results.
