I want to make the Cu nanoparticles with size around 3 nm. However, every time when I try, I can only get bigger particles with size around 70 nm. Can you please give me some help on this or do you have any good references? I want to make copper nanoparticles through wet chemical route. Thanks in advance.
It is very hard to get the high purity Cu nanoparticles less than 5 nm through wet chemical route. At present, I have get the ultrafine Cu nanopartcile about 3 nm using special precursor, but the obtained particle is colloidal and not in the quality of high purity. The related research is still on the half way.
I made Copper nanoparticles of size 5nm by taking Copper Nitrate (2g in 50ml water) + PVP(K=25) (2.5g) + Hydrazine Hydrate (Diluted 100 times) (added drop wise until Green color is formed) at 50 degree celsius= Green color indicates the formation of Copper quantum dots.
You can take more water if you want the reaction to get slower; and if you need any further information then please let me know.
