I know that is not Always that we do things according to what your heart decides to do, but I know that in business we can study how to manage that. So how can we manage when your heart (emotion) act or your brain (reason)?
In the study of Organizational Behavior, the traits of a successful and effective manager and Leader are knowing how to manage both heart and mind so to speak. Theory says that in order to do that you need to find a proper balance between systematic study - Evidence based analysis, and Intuition (gut feeling). In this case, intuition is the affective part of our attitude that comes from experience.
Another important point to note is that in the study of OB as well, it is mentioned that emotionality so to speak is not a fault. it is so, however, if we lack emotional intelligence to understand and control our emotions and those of others.
Therefore, in both OB disciplines importance is founded on finding a strict balance between both.
I suggest you look further into the topic.
I hope this helped or shed a little bit of light on the topic
