How can I input the cohesive parameters and properties of adhesive in abaqus ?

I am doing a numerical study of an impact on a patched structure, the adhesive element is placed between the patch and the damaged material,

There are many ways. I would suggest:

- define it as a material with a TSL damage (upper image), or

- define it as a contact property (lower image).
