I've seen in the literature that I can use choloform and then hexane.. but how can I get rid of them before adding aflatoxin to the bacterial culture media ?
the other method was to grow Aspergillus flavus on liquid media such as PDB but then traces of the media will always exist..
any recommendation please ? and references too

One of the best solvents for aflatoxins is methanol. Since you have to add the solution containing aflatoxins in a bacterial culture, probably the methanol (as well as other organic solvents capable of effectively solubilize aflatoxin) will create you problems. You could try using a solution of 50-60% methanol ti dilute the standard, then you have to calculate the volume of methanol in the bacterial culture volume. Before you do this, is useful to do a trial by adding different amounts of methanol to your bacterial cultures to see their tolerance.
