I am Sabahat Zareen, PhD scholar in Foundation University Islamabad, Pakistan. I am inserted to conduct my research work on climate change and its psychological dimension. Its a relatively new field so far i have studied about it there is a great need of interdisciplinary approach to deal with issue. How psychologist can play role to assess psychological dimensions of climate change.what specific variables can be studied according to our specific culture and what should be the target population as it a global issue and people generally take it as a social or global issue not as a personal one.

You can look at attitudes to CC, or psychological factors that predict endorsement of CC. There are already several studies out there examining similar issues. I would have a look at these. They will give you a feel for possibilities.
Sounds appropriate for many designs, but in order to get a handle on what psychological dimensions to address and from what demographics, perhaps a grounded theory study that looks across population domains would be a nice place to start. What does the public health literature say?
This is definitely a great study, i would think climate change is currently affecting whole communities, families and individuals. The demographic and cross-cultural dynamics would shed more light as you narrow down to a topic.
This is certainly something that has come across my mind previously, especially with some western cultures not taking climate change seriously. One aspect that you might be able to look at is delay discounting within various cultures or regions. Delay discounting might be able to look at both individual and intra-individual choices and how those interact with each other within different groups. Within the realm of climate change, this might be able to help you understand at what point people will start believing it is a real thing or at what point people are willing to make more inconvenient individual changes in order to combat climate change. The application of delay discounting would depend on how you are trying to frame climate change and types of interactions you are attempting to look at.
