Does anyone have any idea about how to functionalize TiO2 and SiO2 nano particles by Trichloro(1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorooctyl)silane for Superoleophobic, simple solution methods.
firstly, the sample can be cleaned by oxygen plasma for about 1 min to provide oxygen groups on the surface (if available!), then immerse your sample in a 1% absolute ethanol solution of Trichloro(1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorooctyl)silane under inert atmosphere “Nitrogen” with a moderate stirring. Depending on the surface coverage you can decide the immersion time from few minutes up to some hours. After removing the sample rinse it immediately with ethanol and dry it in a vacuum oven for 1 h at 60 °C or under vacuum overnight.

2.4. Synthesis of MSNs-OTS
The as-prepared MSNs-OTS were first added with amount of OTS (20 L) in dry toluene (3 mL), and then the OTSmodified MSNs was obtained. In details, MSNs (100 mg) were added to 3 mL of dry toluene and stirred for 60 min at room temperature. Finally, the OTS-modified MSNs were separated from the supernatant by centrifugation(12000 rpm), and the slurry was washed extensively with dry toluene, collected via centrifugation several times, and dried in an oven (30 C) overnight.
