How can I evaluate properly the dispersion of inorganic pigment in paint?

Dear reader, I am currently doing my bachelor in chemical engineering and I am working on inorganic pigments. I dispersed them in paint and applied them on a metal substrate in order to see if I have a homogenous dispersion or not. From my vision I can see that it looks pretty homogenous but I was wondering if there is a more scientific way to investigate this using some kind of instrument? maybe SEM? Thank you in advance.
