Note that uric acid (UA) is an acid, while sodium monourate (SMU) is a salt. It is perhaps easier to differentiate between them chemically than physically. SMU will have twice the colligative property effects of UA. as it will dissociate into Na+ and urate anions, while UA will only partially dissociate as it is a weak acid.
The pKa of uric acid is 5.6. If you dissolve it in an aqueous solution of an alkali hydroxide and that shows basic pH, then you have your salt. How basic you want to go depends on the goal of your experiment.
