Our goal is to predict the classes that will contain faults at the next release of an Object

Oriented System. You know sir, current software metrics and defect data are used to

construct the prediction model for the next release of software. Lots of the Ds (datasets) which locate in NASA PROMISE repository. We had used NASA datasets in PROMISE repository as KC1 (Chidamber-Kemerer Object-Oriented) and method level metrics such as Halstead and McCabe. But NASA datasets are known by everyone.

We want to create a new data set and we has lots of source code (millitary,commercial,education)

I need a software to find object oriented metrics from our softwares. (I know McCabe software but so expensive) We will use these data to create classmetricInfo table for Weka software.

As Bruno said, it depends heavily on your programming language. The NDepend tools use .Net but they also have the pure C++ cppdepend which I have used. It worked well on some code but was utterly defeated by some of our clever macro-based dispatch code. Almost all metrics require your code analysis tools to be able to follow the relationship paths of which code is used where.

In general, you will find vastly more support for .Net and Java because of both the enterprise money available and the vastly easier code parsing of those languages with their inbuilt reflection.

Many tools that work with C++ are very expensive because they are aimed at vital embedded systems of high complexity, so have assurance issues.

It's amazing that you got so many answers without anyone asking what you are going to use the metrics for. If you're going to use them to support a value proposition that many lines of code are good, then you just use WC.

Different styles of programming will need to measure different things. Different styles of business have different needs; for example, the encapsulation metrics in a very good high-availability real-time system are likely to be low, while those in a simple calculator program may be higher.

You can't name me a metric that a tool can generate that can't be gamed. I somehow feel that you are not going to be happy whatever tool you get. But I could be wrong, depending on what you want to use the metrics for. So let me be the first to ask: What will you use the metrics for?
