I am doing analysis of a rotating airfoil . For , rotational purpose I have created a sphere around airfoil . The setup is enclosed by a rectangular box.
How can I define interface zones in ICEM for this case.
It will depend on the type of mesh and the solver. If you have two domains - a solid and a fluid domain. You need to specify two bodies. A tetra mesh create automatically as "CREATED_MATERIAL_##" if no body is created before. The interfaces need to be assigned in teh Mesh Tab> Part Mesh Setup Icon > SPLIT WALL. What it does mean that this surface have two sides.
In a hexablock mesh the volume blocks need to be named.
To ANSYS CFX the interfaces are automatically created once a domain interface is detected. Fluent need be defined this split surface as a Interface. The mesh generation is coupled to solver needs.
