Hi, I am trying to create a Centrifugal Compressor and perform CFD analysis of it.
I have calculated required thermodynamic and other parameters like blade angles, incidence angle, relative Mach no , thickness to chord ratio etc required for generating a 3 D wheel.
But I am having trouble to create a Cad model since the rotor does not resemble a common compressor. The compressor wheel comprise of one rotating set of blades and then a stator blade on the casing and finally again a rotating section of blade on the same wheel, ( similar to an Axial Compressor stage).
I do not know which software should I learn to create the 3D geometry.
I tried Bladegen of Ansys, Autoblade of Numeca but no success.
Any guidance is extremely appreicated

you can try to use Catia V5, for the design and make CFD analysis in ANSYS but you must save your CAD model in "igs" format.

Is is possible to construct the geometry based on different metal angles on every span ?
I have calculated for five sections namely Hub, 25 %, 50 % , 75 % and Casing.
I used 3D blage generator software written by one professor at my university and attached is the image of the compressor , I wish to model. As you can see there are issues with the leading edge and therefore, I have to try some other method.
Your compressor looks interesting. Is the outer set of blade rotating and does it have a radial intake? (Just curious)

I have designed a centrifugal compressor on CATIA (solid body)....but you need model the fluid body for CFD and that might be tricky.
Its a good project. Excellent efforts are made..! Ansys package and Meshing in turbo-grid might be helpful

If I have the blade metal angles, geometry details like hub radius and tip radius at the inlet and exit, which software is best suited to create the 3D file.
If I use CAD software like Solidworks, is it possible to control the spanwise angle.
You can use solid works or generate your own software. Basically if you have surfaces you can sew them to build a 3D model. By sewing i mean a sort of boolean union, then check if you get closed volume
Use ANSYS, with the modelling software SOLIDWORKS do the modelling then generate the mesh using ANSYS after that you can do any kind of analysis with the said software.

sorry for the self-promotion, but I am very confident that all the things you want to do should be no problem to model with CAESES, the software produced by the company I work for. It uses a very flexible modeling approach so that even exotic configurations like yours can be handled.
We have a free version that can be downloaded from our website and that covers all modeling functionality. You would just need to switch to the full version if you want to do optimization. In the software you can find some tutorials about impeller modeling and you can use our forum to find additional information and ask questions.
