Hi,

I am modelling a steel cantilever beam under impact loading in abaqus.

I used 80*10*5(beam-3D/deformable/solid) and 10*10(hammer-3D/discrete rigid/shell/planar) and (E=210, Poi.rat=0.33, Density=) as dimensions.

I used solid-homogeneous as my section. I created a step "Dynamic-Explicit"(time period=0.01), Initial velocity of hammer 1000m/s. I ran the simulation and I got results. 

Now, from interaction module-special,  I placed a spring(24Mpa=stiffness) connected to ground at the free end of the cantilever beam,

I got an error!!

"ELEMENT TYPE SPRING1 IS NOT AVAILABLE IN Abaqus/Explicit 

Analysis Input File Processor exited with an error"

Can some one help me? I dont understand my error!
