i need to prepare a catalyst (aluminium chloride ) , it is a product of the aluminium reaction with hydrochloric acid . BUT the problem is ; Hydrogen gas will come out , which is very dangerous , so how can i perform this reaction safely
Abubakr Mustafa Elkhaleefa To conduct an experiment with hydrogen gas, ensure adequate ventilation and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Start with small amounts of aluminum and hydrochloric acid to minimize gas generation. Use a controlled reaction vessel with a gas trap or balloon connected to a vent hood to escape hydrogen gas. Monitor the reaction carefully and adjust stirring rate or cooling if needed to avoid excessive heat generation or violent bubbling. Have a fire extinguisher readily available in case of hydrogen gas ignition. This will help prevent the spread of harmful chemicals.
Regarding this point :**9. Hydrogen Gas Disposal:** :
I do not have a closed set up to trap the hydrogen gas ; so in this case if I leave the hydrogen to release out through the ventilation hood what would be the expected risks ?
Still I am confused , considering what you have advised to be followed regarding the PPE and the others conditions related to the Aluminum hyrochloric acid reaction , Is it safe to conduct the reaction using small ammounts of both reactants ,Although i dont have a closed set up to collect the hydrogen gas??
@Kaushik Shandilya, can you please stop spamming RG with your unreflected and unedited ChatGPT answers? You're really not helpful and confuse people.
Now regarding the question here: if you (a) work slowly, (b)your vent hood is functioning properly and (c) you keep ignition sources incl. electric devices away from your reaction jar which should be much larger than the acid volume so nothing boils over, it won't be a problem. Just don't dissolve all Al at once.
If you want to work on a scale beyond a few grams, however, you actually need to think about specific hydrogen capture conduits.
Out of curiosity, is there a reason why you can't just use powder AlCl3 from a fine chemical supplier?
Jurgen Weippert: Please stop stalking me on RG and copying/summarizing my answer using chatgpt and posting as your answer. Please feel free to read my publications. Very soon I will publish patent on detection of you people who steal answer and claim that as their own, so keep an eye. You just summarized my answer without reading the original question. I understand your kind of insecured fellow who do not dare to post answer in the first place and then read the already posted answer and then discredit others with their efforts and summarize their answer using chatgpt it is an old trick. Your Nazi attitude should not be tolerated any where in the world.
I do not use chatgpt. You know how to use chatgpt so please entertain us.
Q: Why are you stalking me?
Q: Why do you summarize my answer using and post them as your own using Chatgpt.
I am ignoring you as you are not worth paying attention.
Kaushik Shandilya A significant portion of your responses appears non-human, often missing key points or lacking the depth expected from an experienced researcher. For instance, your answer to this question carries a tone more suited for a middle school explanation, which raises suspicion.
I am not making accusations; rather, I would suggest adopting a more serious tone and offering precise responses. This approach would help you address questions effectively without giving rise to suspicions.
Lucas Gian Fachini Your analysis of Mr. Shandilya's answers is absolutely correct. On two other questions where I asked him if there was anything beyond ChatGPT in the (unhelpful and confusing) answer, he deleted it immediately afterwards.
Kaushik Shindalya: I am not stalking you. You just happen to have posted answers on four questions which popped up in my feed. I did not summarize your anwers using AI, I pointed out their obvious flaws which you did not bother to look for after having them generated.
Lucas Gian Fachini thanks for suggstive input. I like to keep my discussion so that a school student can understand the complex science. Unlike, Jurgen Weippert I do not use chatgpt or wait for feed from automatic chatgpt which he has installed as he said. I dont like my conversation become about Mr Jurgen that is why I always delete my answers. Jurgen never posted any question independently and never answer any question independently at first. He is looking to steal the show by judging others who already posted. I seen his behavor multiple times. I will really appreciate if Mr Weippert please do not follow me. I have already blocked you Mr. Jurgen. I am not here to judge other people. Mr. Jurgen being german you do not get any autocratic powers to judge others. I deleted my first response as this question is about Mr. Jurgen, However, not removed my second response which so anybody reading this can clearly judge that Mr. Jurgen paraphrased my answer and posted here. Always read what somebody else has already and then paraphrasing using chatgpt or similar tool. Anyways My purpose on RG is to contribute to researchers who have genuine questions in a manner which can be understood to most people on earth. I appreciate your input Lucas Gian Fachini
Interesting, accusing someone else of doing the thing you were observed doing yourself. With "feed" I mean the "Questions we think you can answer" feed here on RG, I have no AI running here. I think with the hundreds of on-point-answers I have given on this platform over the last few years I have demonstrated that stealing fame has never been my intention, and thinking that answering questions here will make you famous is a fundamental misunderstanding of the purpose of this platform; RG metrics do not matter in any career decisions and I hope it stays that way.
Abubakr Mustafa Elkhaleefa My apologies for the detour which this discussion took. That was sincerely not my intention.
