Dear all,

How can I compute the second-order construct using SPSS?

I want to compute a second-order construct X based on four sub-dimensions (d1,d2,d3, and d4). Should I consider the second-order construct as a composite construct? So then I can proceed as follows: X = Mean (d1*d2*d3*d4).

The main objective is to test the mediating effect by using Process Macro SPSS.

X is a higher-order construct type reflective-reflective.

I know that handling higher-order constructs using smart PLS is well explained in the literature (Sarstedt et al.,2019). But, as testing my hypothesis doesn't require using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM), I wonder if I can use SPSS (Process Macro) to test mediating and moderating effects in the case of higher-order constructs.

Best regards!
