I'm using SPSS, but am willing to consider other stats or graphing software. I have a data set that has patient drug levels for 2 drugs that were obtained at 5 time points (month 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5) and continuous daily data of pill taking (across 5 months which overlap/coincide with the drug level time points). Pill taking is either yes or no for any given day. I want to plot a graph that shows each individual's 2 drug levels (2 lines on one graph with 5 points) AND the daily intake activity in a scatter plot from across those same 5 months. I attached a sample of what I'm trying to achieve - it is rough and literally one graph on top of another graph. I'd like to have it all be plotted in one graph. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I don't know whether this is a solution for you, but in Matlab one could use plotyy to have actually 2 different y axes, one on the left and one on the right hand side.
Similar approaches exist in all kinds of statistical packages I believe, if you search for (e.g. under youtube) for dual y-axes, you will find a lot of videos and examples showing how to do it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was able to figure out how to do it in SPSS using the ggraph/gpl syntax. Essentially, overlayed 3 scatter plots (3 variables with the same X axis variable) and then fit an interpolation line between the points on two of the variables. It worked fairly well, and as I learned, you can do a fair amount of tweaking using the gpl syntax.
The statitical pagage SYSTAT is very advanced (and easy) on graphs. Trends (several versions) can be added automatically to a x*Y plot. Using BEGIN END one can overlay several graphs from different internal programs on the same frame. One can store the commands so one can fast redo the plots on new similar datasets. The output format is .wmf or ,emf that can be even more manipulated if necessary.
SYSTAT can read and write SPSS data files (and others) so one can go to and from
simply use the Excell from microsoft office. It has many features to manipulatable graphs and data and also has self-guided instructions
