i have performed placket butman experimental design. But i am unable to calculate p value and confidance level. So can any one give me formula to calualte these values?
Plackett–Burman Experimental design: Twelve experiments representing the Plackett–Burman design have been designed to conduct the randomization step and to a correctly enable the regression analysis. Each experiment contains only either the +1 or −1 value of each variables.
I have performed 12 run placket burman deaign fir 11 variables manualy and also calculated diffrence, effect, varience effect, standerd error and t value. I am anable to calculate confidance level and p value . I need formula for calculating this 2 values. I have not used any software for this purpose. So if you can help me out in my prblm.
If you don't have any degrees of freedom, you can't calculate p-values. You can use Pareto Charts. Another options is to look at the coded coefficients and eliminate the 2-3 variables with the smallest coefficients. That will give you the DF to get P-values. Most software companies offer free trial software. Even if you use spreadsheets, there are options to do these calculations for you.
half normal plots is also a method to eliminate small effects that might be considered not active. Then you have degrees of freedom to calculate p-values of the rest.
As soon as some effects are considered zero, you have degrees of freedom to find the standard error and thus a t value. Without software, you have to look up P(observed t value) in a table. A t >= 2 is approx. significant at 5%
