Hello,

I have a cylindrical enclosure in which a couple of electrical components create heat.

In shadow, where radiation can be neglected, I can calculate the max internal temperature based on the heat that can be dissipated by convection of the air inside, conduction through the metal shell and the convection on the external surface.

Given the ambient temperature, I can calculate the steady state internal temeprature.

My question is that if there is sunlight shining on the metal surface, how do I calculate the max internal temperature?

Thanks so much.

Sina
