In layout of ADS tool I want 0402 package lumped elements, but it is not available. How can I browse them from net and add to component library in ADS? Can In I get them in internet?
To create the fixed artwork for the lumped components (Chip Capacitor):
1. Open the Layout window.
2. Select an entry layer for your artwork (select Options > Layer Preferences and use this window or use the layout window toolbar combobox).
3. Draw the shapes representing the capacitor pads as shown in the attached Figure. Be sure your dimensions and layers are appropriate for your design.
4. Add pins to your artwork. The orientation of the pins determines how components will be connected to your artwork when design synchronization is run. Place pin 1 on the left side of the left rectangle with the coordinates at node 1 set to 0,0. Pin 1 looks like an arrow pointing into the artwork.
5. Place Pin 2, rotating it to point in to the right rectangle. When your capacitor is placed during synchronization, it will have connecting items placed to the right and left of it, at the same angle the capacitor is placed.
various vendor components are available in ADS, u can unzip (download) it from main window and add it in your design. some company also provide ADS library if search on their website like Murata.
there are transistors available in its library but I haven’t seen anyone using it. u can see the list and google it if its available in the market. So that if u design smthng u can really fabricate and do the measurement.
I use Cree’s GaN transistor. Cree made this model available to me.(Cree also makes custom transistors for its customer). For academic purpose u can use the transistor and its model from vendors like cree, nxp, st..etc
