I am working on Ciprofloxacin by HPLC methods but getting a peak tailing (about 2.1). I am trying to develop Mass compatible method. Please suggest me something on column chemistry or mobile phase to be used to achieve better peak shape

Agilent has an application Note for the determination of floroquinolone by HPLC-ESI in ppb level. You can use it as you start point for your work.

Here is another application note from Phenomenex. The column they use is Kinetex XB-C18. The peak shape is much better than Agilent Zorbax Eclipse XDB-C8.
