Can anyone let me know the procedure on how to acetylate/acylate on free amine group of Arylhydrazones (R-CH=N-NH2) using Acetic anhydride or Acetyl chloride to get Hydrazone-hydrazides or acylated arylhydrazones.
Thank you for the information about the process, if you have any reference, could you kindly let me know the reference to follow with exact moles and quantities to be used to carry out the reaction.
Thanks to all individually for the details and information about the process.
@ Antorio Latorre: Thanks for the references, I will try to get those articles.
@ Daniel Congrave: Thanks for the detials of the Patent, yep as you said there might be the risk of the formation of a dimer means diacetylation chances will be high, but the process is helpful.
@ Dr. Shiv Kumar Yadav:
Thanks for the said method. How come we will come to know whether the product is formed or not after 3 hr of reflux.......? Need to monitor through TLC or any other method to confirm the completion of the reaction.......? let me know.
Actually today I had kept reflux at 85-90oC by taking 0.1 mole of ethylacetate+0.2 moles of hydrazine hydrate+ 40 ml of ethanol + 3-4 drops of Conc. H2SO4, completed 4hr-30min reflux. Monitored the reaction every hour with TLC. Still I need to continue the reaction.
