Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Water Management in Kazakhstan
Water scarcity is a growing threat in Central Asia, and Kazakhstan faces significant challenges due to the depletion of traditional water sources and pollution. My research explores how non-conventional atmospheric water harvesting (NC-AWHT) technologies can offer a promising solution.
Our study examines seven mature NC-AWHT options for applicability in various Kazakhstani regions. The findings reveal that Air AW3 systems and Artificial Glaciers (AG) are particularly cost-effective for family and village-sized applications. While utility pipelines remain the most cost-effective for families with access, AG emerges as a strong competitor for villages.
Our research offers valuable insights into leveraging emerging technologies for sustainable water management.
