I would like to define an initial microcomputer with specific average grain size by using vorronoi diagram in phase field method. I have measured the average grain size experimentally, but when define specific grain numbers in my micro structure, the average grain size differs from my experimental result.
Kindly appreciated if i have suggestion for defining correct grain size based on the experimental average grain size.
The same problem was faced when I had been developing cellular automata simulations of dynamic recrystallization. There was a necessity to produce microstructures with different mean initial grains sizes.
I do not know what type of microstructure you use. CAs are capable to generate initial microstructures by simulated impingement growth of initial seeds randomly spread across the simulated 2D plane.
In my Ph.D. details of what I describe here are shown. The modeling principles are as well available as an open-source software simulating DRX using CAs in my RG profile.
Be aware of the act that the simulated microstructure reflects the type of underlying lattice and neighborhood. The type of lattice and neighborhood strongly affects the shape of simulated boundaries!
