How can aptamer-protein interaction can be best modeled? Can Langmuir isotherm be used to model the aptamer-protein interactions? Some papers use Langmuir isotherm to model DNA hybridization.
Actually, Langmuir model can not explain the mechanism of interaction. It gives an idea on surface homogeneity. Spectroscopic analysis (ATR-FTIR, XPS etc.) and surface complexation model ( e.g., Extended constant capacitance model, Triple layer model) can precisely explain interaction mechanism.
