Can I use the following standards to quantify strigolactone in Bambara groundnut:
1. 5-Deoxystrigol
2. Orobanchol
3. Strigol
4. Orobanchyl acetate (Alectrol)
I have noticed two standards that seem to have two functions in one for example(±)2´-Epi-orobanchol can be used in synthetic preparation and synthesis of germination stimulants (±)-orobanchol and (±)-strigol via allylic rearrangement.. (±)2´-Epi-5-deoxy-strigol is said to ba s a derivative of Strigol which is a germination stimulant. It can be used in synthetic preparation of (±)-5-Deoxystrigol using reductive carbon-carbon bond formation. If I buy and use them as standards will they give me the results I need? I had also noted that the above standards also come with the +and - to their example (±)-orobanchol and (±)-strigol. Does (±)-5-Deoxystrigol joint word and (±)-5-deoxy-strigol function the same.
Which machine can I use to get the best results? HPLC or LC-MS, please advise me
