Whether F2 derived from RIL population is appropriate for GWAS ?
Dear Gopal
F2 derived RIL are appropriate for linkage mapping. GWAS is done on natural population preferably more than 300 genotypes.
Best,
If you have only a single population, the linkage-based QTL mapping would be method of choice. If you have more than one population, and some other inbreds along these RILs that are genotyped, GWAS would be better choice.
If you have two or more RILs populations derived from different parentages then can be conducted GWA study.
