History of upconversion luminescence?

Some papers state that "in 1959, a 960nm infrared laser was used to excite polycrystalline zinc sulfide, and green light was obtained at 525nm". However, the reference cited is Nobel laureate Professor Bloembergen's 1959 study on infrared quantum detectors in Physical Review Letters (DOI: https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevLett.2.84). This is clearly a mismatch. What is the correct reference?
