I am doing a research on the effect of embedding diamond as a component in equity portfolio. The aim is finding its effect on the overall performance of the portfolio in terms of returns, volatility and Sharpe ratio. I know that the diamond prices are based on the 4C's but is there is a average price for all of them. I am looking for any source to download diamond monthly historical prices.
The Global Diamond Reports by Bain & Comany provide background pricing information for diamonds over time. Are you looking at the share price of diamond mining companies? There is often a large componant of speculation in their share price. Diamond mines are often very profitabe, but very costly to find. It all all complicated because each diamond mine has a unigue diamond population based on stone size distribution, colour frequncies, morpholgy groupings, and final bulk production valuing is only done after catergorising every individual stone and then pricing each category carats.

I suggest you to have the data from BLOOMBERG or ETF FUND MANAGER. Actually ETF Fund Manager has the responsibility and tasks to keep the Price or NAV of funds. Thank you Sir.

Josep, you probably did not understand the question. He asked whether such an ETF exist, and you replied that he should ask fund manager. How can he ask fund manager since he does not know even whether such fund exist?
I did find an index for diamond prices on the following site

But it is just an indicator not tradable.
Hi Peter, yes, misunderstood. There is no "future index" for diamond. Sorry. Too fast to answer. Perhaps he meant "company" ? Thanks to remind me.
