I am working on terrestrial oil spill modeling using NDVI, NDBI and LST. The vulnerability curves and damage function are suggestions from examiners. Unfortunately I couldn't even grab the basics on the net. Kindly assist.
Hey there. A vulnerability curve indicates how likely an asset will be to experiencing different levels (typically 0 to 100 %) of loss or damage. A damage function describes the corresponding damage (e.g. building collapse) that an asset will experience if exposed to a specific level of hazard (e.g. ground shaking from an earthquake). Check out the linked book for more information.
Thank you so much Josh Hayes, the book is very helpful. It contains a lot. Please do you think my parameters (NDVI, NDBI and LST) are good enough to produce the curves for both vulnerability and damage?
