Hi I'm looking for advice on calibrating a pressure mat to make dynamic readings from horses

Hi, I am using a Tekscan pressure mat for my project. I am wondering whether anyone has a protocol for calibrating this mat using a horse, as when we use a human to calibrate it the sensels saturate during the equine readings. Many thanks in advance! Sarah

Set the mat to the highest measurement range as horses are significantly heavier than humans and the hooves have a comparably small contact area.

Even then it could be that you experience overload events - at least when measuring dynamic loads. These mats are not really intended for veterinary use.

"Calibration" in the usual sense should not be nesessary. But you,re free to use some static load(s) to check for accuracy. Be aware tzat 1000 kPa equals 10 kh/cm2!
