Hi. How the photothermal properties of gold nanoparticles are affected if they are covered by another material?

Hi all, actually I have two questions regarding gold nanoparticle.

1. If I want to use core-shell or yolk-shell with a gold nanoparticle as a core and a polymer as a shell, then will it affect the photothermal activity of gold nanoparticle in treating cancer cells?

2. Has anyone has any know-how on afterglow polymer covered gold nanoparticles? I could not find any literature where they use gold and afterglow together. Can someone provide some insights?
