As long as I know colcemid was better than colchicine cause is less toxic than colchicine. It is also used all over the world and is effectively working.

Colcemid is a syntethic analouge of colchicine and, as Mr Ramadhani mentioned, it is characterized by less clastogenic effect. You can learn more about mitostatic activity of these two chemicals in attached article.
