Help regarding Lateral Flow Assay?

When I dispense the gold conjugated oligonucleotides onto the conjugate pad the color of the conjugate pad fade with the passage of time and upon sample application, the conjugate doesn't seem to leave the conjugate pad. Can I have to pre-treat the conjugate pad? Any suggestions?
