these expansions,perpendicular to the shell, indeed look somewhat like bryophytes, especially tiny leafy liverworts. At least as it can be judged from your photo. However very few bryophytes can whitstand brackish water. Moreover liverworts are most of the time prostrate, i.e. growing flat on the substrate. By dessication they shrink. Eventually the distribution of "shoots" won't be as regulat as that can be observed. Can gasteropods mantle or periostracum have glandular expansions ?
