I have done all optical simulations in RF module, now how can i find generation rate of electrons and holes, secondly how can i use these generation rate in semiconductor module to find further electrical parameters of solar cells like IV curve, in another words how can i couple optical and electrical modules in COMSOL.

It is so that the incident photonflux phi decays exponentially with the distance from the surface of the absorbing material such that
phi(x)= phi0 exp -alpha x,
alpha is the absorption coefficient.
Differentiating the above equation one gets
d phi= -alpha phi(x) dx
dNph= (alpha phi(x) dx,
The generation rate G=dNph/dx= alpha phi(x)
This is the photogeneartion rate of the electron hole pairs.
This photogeneration rate is to be inserted in the continuity eqautions of electrons and holes.
dp/dt= -1/q dJp/dx + G - R
where q is the electron charge,
Jp is the hole current density,
and R is the net recombination rate= dp/dt
A similar equation holds for the electrons.
