I want to do some test on CLT panel based from EN 16351.
It doesn't mention about specimen dimensions such thick, wide, or length.
Especially for structural needs, such bending test/MOE/MOR/etc.
Do you know the dimension of the specimens?
Do you know several kind of test on CLT to get structural value on building?

We are using the dimensions of ASTM D143.
One question on CLT manufacturing is the large panel sizes. To test in parallel and perpendicular bending demands large panel sizes.

So you use the full-size panel manufacturing and cut/divide it based on the test you did from ASTM D143?
Exactly.
We use a 5x5cm section to test according to ASTM.
The problem is the panel size for testing flexure in both paralel and perpendicular. By now we test flexure only in paralel direction and comprssion and shear at bondline in both directions, since specimen size is smaller.

Yes, it depends on specimen thickness (L/h = 14 minimum).
There are two section sizes for the static bending tests: 50x50mm for primary method specimens or 25x25mm for secondary method specimens. We are using the 50x50cm section since it is the final thickness of the CLT produced. For this section the span is 710mm and for the 25x25mm the span is 360mm.

The width of the specimens for bending tests shall be > 300 mm according to EN 16351. The standard size of a cross section is 150×600 mm² (Unterwieser and Schickhofer 2013). But the layup and the resulting overall thickness should be representative for the product to be tested.
