I need to design a three-stage battery charger for lead-acid batteries.
I tried o design analog circuit but the transistor got so hot and need large heatsink, so I decide to design digital circuit with special ic's.
May somebody please introduce me the required ic like UC3906 that I can easily find in Iran?

In a recent paper we developed a battery charge controller. It may be useful for solving your problem.
If you display your circuit one may think with you the cause of getting hot for your transistor. The problem of overheating can be solved by using the correctly rated transistors or you can use switching control.
As for the charging a battery the first phase of charging is preferred to be a consatnt current source which is followed by a consatnt voltage source.
