i' making a simulation of composite layup with continuum shell elements in abaqus, i'm entering Hashin failure criteria data without entering damage evolution data, the confusing thing is the simulation of the composite starts even without entering the damage evolution values in hashin, but the simulation stops converging at HSNMTCRT, HSNMCCRT, HSNFTCRT, HSNFCCRT less then 1 and sometimes more, so the simulation is not taking hashin failure criteria into account!

Hashin failure criterion in ABAQUS works right. I'm afraid you're mistaken.
It starts to run even without entering the damage evolution values in the property module. That's completely right. Because, at the primary stages, your model has not experienced any failure, and the model did not need to Hanshin failure criterion.
First, the Hashin failure must identify the onset of failure in composite plies, then degradation of mechanical properties by using the CDM approach (For ABAQUS model: Lapczyk I, Hurtado A, Progressive damage modeling in fiber-reinforced materials Composites: Part A 2007; 38: 2333–2341.) will start. When damage initiation starts, the model requires the damage evaluation data for the continuation of the process. So, while there is not any data, the model starts to divergens!
