The children prefer colored braces. In my opinion this kind of braces increases the compliance and duration of brace wearing through daytime. Especially, in little children.
An interesting idea! I would suppose that allowing the patient to select the color/outer design of the brace would enhance a feeling of ownership, and increase compliance. Now compliance can be measured with heat sensors this might be an interesting study.
Boys and girls predisposed to choose colors (military or pink flowers) is confirmed by study? Do You know some publications? This is an interesting observation.
As we know bracing is uncomfortable, often adversely affects self image, and imposes some difficulties with social and athletic activities. I am agree that colored brace improve bracing acceptance, and idea of Pr Tanchev is very interesting.
The color of the brace does, in most cases, play an important role of acceptance/compliance in children. To let them choose the color or painting is also important, from my point of view.
I do not have any statistics but lots of children experience…
