Hello.

I am planning to work on with C. reinhardtii.

I am going to use GFP vector to utilize fluorescent microscope.

But one of researchers in our lab told me they moves very fast

and it's hard to take pictures of them. Besides, they illuminate green under the UV lights, seemingly auto-fluorescent.

Is there anyone who knows how to reduce motility of Chlamydomonas?

I suspect autolysin treatment would do it since it breaks down cell walls of Chlamydomonas and then disables their flagella. If someone knows confirmed ways to compromise or even remove their motility, please let me know!

We have strain CC 124, 125.

Do they luminesce green???
