Has anyone used Countess II FL Cell Counter from Life Technologies for yeast counts? I am looking for an automated cell count and viability for yeast fermentation (think brewery). These would be homogenous sample dyed for viability.
Countess model is for mammalian cell counting, minimum cell size should be larger than 5-6um. However, yeast cells are too small to be counted using Countess II FL, they are between 3-4um.
I've worked with people from brewery, they got several yeast cell counter demos, and the result using Aber instrument (https://aberinstruments.com/) yeast cell counter was the best. You may ask them to have demo.
