The eye would then be processed for paraffin embedding. We are attempting to improve the morphology of rabbit eyes when using 10% formalin or 4% PFA as fixative. Davidson's has proven to work great, but not so much for IHC.
Hi Stephanie, if it is possible, perfuse the animals with 4 % PFA. If not make a small incisition in the eye bulb before you put it into the fixativ (4% PFA) The incisition is nacessary so that the PFA get inside the bulb to fix the retina. And then embed the bulb in paraffin.
