While starting lysing my cells today, I realised that the first two lysis buffer bottles (iL1 and iL2) of the kit contained only 44mL, in other words, enough buffer to lyse 44 million cells. As far as I know, people rarely proceed for ChIP-seq with only 1 million cells of starting material, but rather 2 millions at least (two pooled IPs). Which makes enough reagents for 22 reactions (unlike the 24 stated on the kit). Besides all these, the whole protocol is written for cross-linking 10 million cells, which is very misleading when one has used their previous kits. My real question is... does anyone else feel they're paying too much for so little?
Cheers
